Friendship

Is a little bit of giving
And a little bit of love
With a little bit of blessing
Coming from above
Just a little bit of thoughtfulness
To make some pathway bright
Is all it takes for friendship
To blossom overnight

    Hello Lee Ping,
Happy Birthday!!! May this year ahead bring God’s richest blessings, and may your walk with the Lord experience greater depths this year.
    Fondly,
    Fay
p.s. Is the lady across from you Fontine, who made “bah zhang” for the malaysian / singaporean gathering? She looks familiar.

  2. Dear Fay,

Kam Shia (Thank you in Hokkein Language). It is my prayer that my family and I have Christ in us daily.

You are right. The lady across from me is Fonteyn, she made Nyonya Bah Zhang for the Malaysian/Singaporean gathering. I told them to start their own blog because they are the real cooks. Fonteyn cook delicious food just by food remembrance and tasting. We ordered a cocktail and after just one taste, she knew it has cinnamon.

The other two ladies are also great cooks. It is ironic that I am the one that has a cooking blog because I still have to use measuring spoons to cook.

  3. ohh HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Wishing you all the best in health and wealth 😉

You had a wonderful birthday and warm friends! Curious about the food pix. Could you please tell me what they are? The food pix below the corn one – is it beef?

  5. Dear Teckiee,

Thanks for the birthday wish. I love the eyebrow raised smiley icon next to wealth. Very cute. This year, my wish or prayer to God is oneness with Him and joy. And may the Lord continue to bless our family with good health.

    Dear Alice,

I am blessed with friends who remember my birthday year after year.

The restaurant that we went to is a Peruvian Restaurant call Andina. The food photo with the corn is Ceviche de Pescado (I think). I don’t speak the Spanish language but the waitress was patient to explain the dish to us.

Ceviche de Pesado is an appetizer dish. It has raw fish that is cut into 1/2 inch chunks seasoned with lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Served on a bed of lettuce, topped with thinly sliced red onion, with corn on the cob and two pieces of sweet potatoes.

My friends and I ordered 4 appetizer dishes and 2 main entree. We really enjoyed eating the appetizers because it was something that would be hard for us to replicate at home or would take us a long time to make.

  6. Happy birthday, Lee Ping! Looks like you had a wonderful celebration with your girlfriends. The food pics look delicious!

  7. Dear Lyrical Lemongrass,
Thanks for your wishes. Indeed, it was a great day for me. I cannot thank you enough for their friendship. And the food not only look delicious, it tasted delicious as well, especially the appetizers.

Looks like you had a great time! The food looks good and your pictures look good too.

  9. Dear WMW,

I had a great time. Thanks to your photography tips, my pictures have improved from blur to clear. However, I still have rooms for improvement.

I like the quote by Amanda Hesser, “But in fact, food is like fashion. Others may mimic, but style and faultless execution are the mark of a determined individual. People may copy Lady M’s Mille Crêpes, but when they want a perfect specimen, they will go to the store — or just pick up the telephone and have it delivered to their doors.”

That is what attracts me back to your blog, clear and delicious food photos.

  10. Hi, just dropping by. You visited my blog the other day through Lily Ng’s blog.

LOL, so I was curious what you were talking about when you mentioned about what I had written about myself.

    Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday!

  11. Jonzz,
You wrote: “I searched for light and found darkness. In despair, I embraced it and made it mine. But then, in that darkness, I have found light once again…” That was what prompted me to leave you a comment.
Thanks for the belated birthday wish. 🙂

:o) Thanks a lot for your compliments, yet again. You are too kind!

  15. Nothing beats spending your birthday with good friends, right? So glad you had a wonderful birthday.

  16. Dear FireHorse,

You are right, nothing beats spending birthday with good friends.

I thank God for all my friends, including non-believers. I pray that my faith and my behavior will attract them to God, instead of steering them away from God.
